(Richmond, Texas) – Welcome to Richmond just became a little brighter, thanks to new lighting on the historic downtown water tower. The 22 ft. iconic water tower serves as a beacon to residents, businesses, and the community. The illumination upgrade includes twelve energy-efficient LED light fixtures that will brighten the tower’s structure. Two large light-structures at the base and ten smaller lights fixtures attached to the railing will make the tower more visible and keep it lit up at night. The lights are projected to remain in use for up to 25 years.  Blue, green, and red are a few of the colors the tower’s lighting can display.

The Development Corporation of Richmond and City of Richmond have worked in partnership to accomplish multiple goals as set out in the City of Richmond’s Comprehensive Master Plan. This project leverages economic development funds to enhance the community and promote growth, rehabilitates an existing community asset, and strengthens the awareness and image of Richmond throughout the region.
